New products: The Compodeck grating

The manufacture of the Compodeck grating is absolutely innovative. In fact it is made of a particular polyester resin, which is highly fire-retardant and extremely resistant to mechanical stresses. Compodeck is also the first grating that has reached the L1 level; this means it meets the highest standards set by the PFM2-98 of the U.S. Coast Guard for its structural resistance to flames. The test is carried out by exposing the grating to fire for an hour and then examined under different loads. By meeting the standards for the L1 performance, the Compodeck grating ensures the highest safety level. It is therefore suitable for its use in walkways or areas which may be used for escape, or access for firefighting, emergency operation or rescue. Compodeck grating resists where, after a long exposure to fire, standard FRP (GRP) gratings are damaged and weakened.
